Clearance between gas tank and cargo area floor pan?

Does anyone know how much of a gap is in between the cargo area floor pan and the gas tank? I am going to have a power distribution board for my amps in the cargo area and I need to be able to screw down my base to the car...but I don't want to run screws into my gas tank >.< any help will be appreciated!!

I'd like to know as well, for other reasons though. If you are worried about running screws down into the tank, you could put a piece of wood under the cargo carpet. 1/2" or 3/4" should do ok.

That's exactly what I'm doing. I still have to fasten the wood to the chassis though. If nobody comes to our rescue by this evening I'll jack my car up when I get home from work and find out the hard way

The tank is up tight against the rear cargo pan. The only separation is whatever the insulation strip(or whatever it's called) on top provides. I'd be very careful about running screws through that area.

Rather than screwing the wood to the car, use a chemical bond. Get a tube of adhesive and glue it down. Some panel bond adhesive may work. Would have to check to see if it's compatible with wood. If not, than some from a home supply store should do.

This is what I decided to do. Gonna check Vato Zone and Lowe's for the right stuff.

I thought about that as well but I like to have something separating the power wires from the carpet...just in case. I did end up cutting my carpet out and using some epoxy to bond the wood to steel. When I get my new carpet I plan on carpeting around the fuses, distribution block, cap, and amp.

I did use velcro to secure my cap to the distribution board though as I couldn't find the mounting brackets that came with it.
