I think they were available from 82-84 ( I could be wrong on when they ended) anyway, they can be removed, just take off the hatch trim p[iece and you should see how it's mounted, take it off and fill in the hole in the lift gate.

I'm not sure of the years either, though my 85 IROC has the rear wiper.

For Camaros, 1986 was the last year for the optional rear wiper/washer. Only 1,566 units that year. Ironically, 1986 was also the first year of the factory rear window louvers. Obviously, you couldn't get both. Choices, choices!! Personally, those are the two of the ugliest parts I've ever seen on third gens.

Agreed. But from the lack of sales of rear window louvers, I'd have to conclude that most people did not like them. Personally, I don't like them on third gens or any car that has a double compound curve glass. I LOVE them on 1969 thru 1972 Mach I's. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the 1969 Mach I was the first car ever to have factory louvers. I owned a 1970 Boss 302 at one time, but it did not have factory louvers (bummer).

Yes it can be removed. My frined took his out and fiberglassed over the hole. I don't think they look great but if I was driving my car in the winter again I wish I had one.

Amen Bro,

I think the louver has saved the rear portion of my interior 12 times over
