i have a non a/c box from a 84 z28, will that work in my 88 trans am? and does anyone know if the controls are the same, i realize the dashes are different, but i pulled the vents,blower,wiring and everything together, and id like to use them in the ta!! thanks in advance

 

All AC delete boxes are the same but the wiring for a AC delete box is different then a AC box. Did the 88 have ac in it? if so the AC delete box will still work but you will have to wire it using the existing harness which isnt too hard

 

the 88 had a/c but the previous owner took it out, i have the delete box from the 84, and the wiring blower etc from the 84.my question was if the controls are the same,because id like to swap out the digital non operational dash for a analog dash,with no a/c

 

I think you will need the non digital ones if the digital one doesnt work. Unless you can get the digital one to work then you can use the harness from the delete box insted of the old one

 

thanks! i am going to pull the digital dash and push button controls in th enext week or so, and see what is going on with them before i attempt to swap it all. i know i wont be putting a/c back in, so i ll check it out! thanks again

 

I'm not sure how the push-button controls work, but you do NOT necessarily need to swap out the heater module (the thing containing the heater core) for a non-A/C one to use the non-A/C blower case. All you would need would be the control head and the vacuum harness for an A/C case. You can have A/C ducting without having A/C., and then you won't need to add extra vents and controls.
