I don't see a separate part number for it. I know what you mean. They become brittle and just disintegrate. My recommendation is to make new ones. That's my plan for the future once the pick-a-part supply has been exhausted. Good luck, Lon.

Hey lonsal,
I need those parts too, can't locate them anywhere, what material would you make them from? I was thinking of Teflon or a hard plastic if I can find the stock.
Thanks,
Ken

Car: 2001 Camaro Z28/1995 Camaro Z28
Engine: just a little 5.7(LS1-320/340 RW)
Transmission: SMOOOOOOTH T-56/Auto. . .
Axle/Gears: 3.42 and 2.73
Has anyone tried going to the GM dealer and asking them to look up the part numbers?

Yup. BTDT, came away empty-handed. They aren't even on the parts blowup they have... I had the parts counter person come out and look at my car to see where the part was, and then I came back in and looked at the blowup with her for every year from 82-86, and none of them showed it.
I took a generic rubber mat that I bought at Auto Zone, cut a couple of little strips, and glued them into the hatch glass track to limit the sideways motion of the hatch. Works great.

Well guys I am nearly ready to start selling these. I have completed 95% of the operations on my first production run of 70 sets and was expecting to get the last operation done early next week. They are made from nylon. Now for the bad news. I have had a slight delay. I sliced the tip of my left index finger this afternoon. Three stitches, a tetanis (sp?) shot, antibiotics & pain killers and I'm back home. I was cutting a piece to mount shelves in my new workshop. But as I said I am close to being open for business. My new company is called "Top-Down Solutions" (626)369-0040. E-mail me or call me for status. My web page hasn't been started yet, but I've registered the site www.top-downsolutions.com. This is just the first of many products I envision for our thirdgen F-bodies. Exciting things to come. 8^)
