Hey guys. I've searched for an answer and found nothing so maybe one of you could answer it. Will a driver side door from an 82-92 Camaro fit on an 87 TA? Im trying to find people parting out Firebirds locally but Im having no luck. But there are plenty of people parting out Camaros. Thanks for the help.

I have doors from an 86 camaro on my 83 TA because I wanted manual windows/locks/mirrors.

Mirrors might be different, never really payed attention to the bird's mirrors.

Everything is the same, period. Except some export cars got paddle mirrors.
Be warned that pre-85 cars have a different attachment for the front window tracks/triangle seals. You will need to retain the triangles/tracks if you end up changing anything inside the door (power to manual or the other way around). Found that out the hard way when I went to put doors from an 84 T/A on my 87
. The seals, however, will swap on the triangles, except for the later cars that don't have removable seals.

You sir are correct that they are both F-bodies. Now my next question is do I have to drill holes in a door from a non TA donor for the lower door piece?Originally Posted by Keoman

Yes, you will need to drill the holes in a non-GFX door.Originally Posted by DirtyBird87

If you can, post up some pictures of any differences in the future.

Just curious, why are you replacing the doors? Usually door replacement doesn't go well on these cars because of the welded on higes.

Something I forgot and hasn't been mentioned. 82 to around 86 or 87, the door latches were held in with countersunk bolts. The later were held in with flat bolts. I believe the bolt pattern is the same but I personally wouldn't use countersunk bolts in doors that weren't made for them or vice versa. Too much stress on the metal.

Thanks for the info. Reason I want to do a door swap is because the previous owner did a horrible job trying to fix a dent. He just caked on bondo and drilled holes in the door that have started to rust in various spots. I feel like it would be easier to swap the door than to fix the damage he caused. Chime in guys if you know of any other routes I should take. I have little experience with body work but would like to tackle the job on my own.Originally Posted by white gold 88
