Center Console Lid

Arghhhhhh, my center console lid is coming apart. aparently it's shrunk, and I looked in the NextGen magazine and they wanted like 160 bucks for one. what the ****!! So, any tips for fixing the old one, fabricating a new one, or is it pretty easy to find one of these in decent condition in a junkyard?
Any suggestions appreciated!

Well, the problem with that is the previous owner taped it up with electic tape, so it's got that sticky crap all over it. Not to mention it's shrunken and warped and doesn't seem to cover the plastic pieces.

Go to the junk yard and find the one in the best condition, then try to restore it.I've done this to many parts and they look brand spankin new. This is really helpful considering prices for our Camaro's & Firebirds these days, any ways you never know what you will find at the j/y.It real fun to make something that look like a pile of cow s*(t and make it look beautiful again.

You can still get the (edited - Camaro) console lids new from GM - only in black though. I got mine about 6 months ago for around $60 - luckily I needed it black. I see A LOT of used stuff in bad shape going for more than you can get them new from you GM dealer - try them first. (edited) - I'm sure if they have them for the Camaros,, they'll have them for the Firebirds.
