Ozium...I think they sell it at K-mart or Wal-Mart. It worked on my mom's car that had a leaking heater core. It stayed wet so long that it started to mold. It stunk. Not anymore. Worth a try at least.

The obvious and costly solution is a new interior. Since you say that's out, I recommend that you pull the seats and the carpet. The problem with the chemicals you mentioned is that you can only apply them from the top side. The stuff that smells has obviously seeped through to the bottom. Your carpet needs to air out. If you can afford it, swing for a new carpet. That will solve a lot of your problem. If you can't afford even a new carpet, pull the old one, treat BOTH sides with the no-smell chemical of your choice, let it air for as long as you can do without your car, then put it back together.

I had the same problem with my car. The previous owner did have a dog, but I found a pool of water under the left rear seat. I just took all the water out, left the carpet up folded up, drove it every now and then with the window down, and when I was working on it, had the windows down and hatch open. It took over a week dry out. It smells better now (also took some baking soda to it and vacuumed), but could use a new carpet to smell fresher. Good luck, and let me know what you find - I still can't figure out how all that water got in there.

There is a way to get the smell out, but you will need a good shop vac(water prof) or a carpet steamer. What you do is get a cleaner that is safe for carpets and soak your carpets. Then with a hard brush scurb the carpet down really good (you can do the seats to).Use the shop vac\steam cleaner to suck out the cleaner the smell should go with it.Or you can take your car to a dealership, and for around $100 or so you can get a full detail. The smell will be gone and the car will look bran spanking new.BTW Some will even power polish you car.

If you are really strapped for cash but can spare some time, you can do what I did to my 79 LTD. It had been sitting in a field for two years before being given to me and had become home to mice underneath the back seat. I cleaned all the trash out (two trash bags from underneath the back seat) Lysoled EVERYTHING, removed the back seat and let it air in the garage after being bombed with Lysol. I think I enede up using two cans. Then, I got 3 of those egg shaped air fresheners that get more powerful the farther you open them up. I opened them all the way, tossed them in, shut the doors, and didn't open them again until I had fixed my head gasket. When I got in, the was no smell at all.
