Saving his Precious Pink Camaro

my stepdad has a 84 with a very very tired v6 and various mechanical / cosmetic issue lack of interior liners and covers radio doesn't work ... the list goes on and on ...

recently the Transmission cross member pulled the bolts out because the unibody has the consistency of shredded wet paper towels

after some fiddling and metal submission therapy he welded some 1/16 steel and rebuilt the portion of the unibody that the cross-member attached to

the rest of the car is worse/no better so my question is thus: what are the Options here buying a new car is out of the question mainly because it was a tribute to his children that he lost in a fire

as far as I can see the only way to save it would be the pull the car down to nothing and start re-welding and re-fabricating the majority of the car
I been looking for a weld-in under-frame or braces but all I have found is subframe connectors witch do me no good because there is literally no subframe left

You could always look for a donor car and strip it of the subframe pieces you need to redo or you can make your own out of box tubing or anything else you can think of to work. pretty much all there is , is subframe connectors and thats it
