I have looked through numerous places with no luck. But if you search the posts, there was a post from months ago about these really cool guages where the needle glowed in different colors. That's not the best explanation of it, but they didn't make them for our cars then anyway, and I doubt they do now cause they seemed to be mostly in the rice business. But search for it though, cause it was very sweet looking, and I'm sure you could fabricate those pretty easily just by scraping the paint off your needles and putting a xenon bulb or whatever to shine thru the needle.
A post a while back mentioned that Macewen (the first to come out with production white-faced gauges for thirdgens) is currently working on them. I don't know the validity of that statement, but I thought I'd bring it up for you guys (maybe you could ask Macewen?).

The thought crossed my mind in the past to make things which normally do not have a backlight have one. The best idea i could think of is to buy the nightlight that is flat against the wall and lights with a green electroluminescent panel on the inside. If you could find one sufficiently big enough, im sure you could make it work somehow. Perhaps cut out the numbers and mount the panel behind the face to light only the numbers. Probably a lot of holes in this plan, but i'm just rattling off some ideas.

autometer makes a line of gauges called "Ultra-nite". They are awesome, but you would have to make a custom guage panel. I think this will be my next mod.
