Can I start wet sanding and buffing?
The paint I used was not automotive. From WalMart - Krylon acrylic latex enamel, gloss black. The car was sprayed. Lots of runs. Sanded down the runs and re-primered. Sanded 1200 grit then repainted using roller this time. Did 7 coats, waiting 2 hours between coats. It's been 2 weeks and paint not dry (I don't think). Touch it for a second, pull back, it's sticky. Touch it and hold for 5 seconds, pull back, it's sticky and leaves a fine print. Should I start with my wet sanding?

Good luck with that mess. Watch how fast fine sandpaper gums up with partially cured paint.
Is this even doable? I doubt that type of paint is meant to be sanded smooth.
I think you ruined a TA.

You can start by stripping all that garbage off the car and doing it correctly.

Really?
On a car?
Sometimes, when the paint and bodywork is really fubar, there is only one way out.

Dude..... Doing it right isn't that expensive.... Why would you cut corners?...
If it hasn't hardened in 2 weeks it probably won't. Strip it and try it again. You can get a half way decent gun at Harbor Freight for like 15 bucks, get some paint mixed at Napa, hang some tarps in your garage & do it right...

You always have choices. Either live with a sticky dull paint job or start stripping it and doing it right.

Ummmm no my friend dont try it. You need to strip that paint off. Do as suggested get a gun and have some paint mixed. If its still not cured and sticky imagine what it will be like driving it a few days with dust and bugs. You'll end up having a bigger mess to fix. Take your time don't rush it make sure you get all that paint off and start fresh. No matter what you spend on a paint job if its not prepped correctly it will still look like crap.

Re: Can I start wet sanding and buffing?
At this point, you only have 2 options:
1) Start over. And just getting back to the original paint will not be possible.
2) Do nothing, because in time, weathering will cause the Krylon to fade
and run. (Go ahead, ask me how I know this.
)
At which point, see #1 above.
PS. Enamel is not made for color sanding.

Re: Can I start wet sanding and buffing?
Update - Paint dried, I wet sanded, buffed, polished, and waxed.
Results - Did not shine up. Has a little shine, looks like satin black.
Looks great from 15 feet, not so good up close. At least it's smooth as hell, and should last if I keep waxing. Yeah, it will need to be redone, but I'm tired of messing with it. I can live with it for now.
I've learned my lesson everyone, don't ever use cheap Walmart enamel paint. EVER!

Yup, that's looks terrible. Hope you have better luck on the next try.
BTW, the kink in the hood and completely misaligned hatch don't help.

I have seen worse, but it does make a Maaco paint job look really good. At least it's all one color. That's always a plus.
Re: Can I start wet sanding and buffing?
Sometimes I see threads here and all I can do is sit back and shake my head. If you don't have the time or money to do it right, do you have it to do it again? Latex? Really? Even a rattle can job has much better odds of coming out passable from 20 ft.

I would try to clear a small area and see if it shines up.

Your big mistake was using latex, nothing wrong with a roll on paint job if you use the right paint. In the future when you want a proper repaint a shop will probably charge double.
