Is it possilbe to recover my sunvisors?
I am in the middle of swapping my interior over to black. I just bought the materials to recover my headliner in black. It was originally gray...the headliner doesnt look like it will be too much of a problem...but my visors do. I have a t-top car...so I dont want to ghetto-rig my car. Is it possible to recover my gray visors black?...I dont feel like lookin like a complete idiot with a black headliner and gray visors...even though I plan on getting the black and gray Z28 seats. Please help me out.

It does seem possible, I mean if they stitched it together so you can unstich and restich it. The problem is you might mess them up a little if you not carefull. You can always getto them out and just put black material over them, but I have a felling you dont want to do that.

Try some local upholstery shops, they can do it for you. Ask them if it is possible to remove the old cover and install your new one. It seems like they always want to recover sunvisors without removing the old fabric.
I personally have thought about making some out of dark gray plexiglas. Never gone past the thinking stage though.

I just went to a black headliner in my car. I spray painted my visors with cloth spray paint, just as a temporary fix, and it actually looks good. I checked and upolstry shop and their recover price was more than you can buy new out of "Next Generation". www.nextgenparts.com

I'll do them for you if you like. I wouldn't need the metal part just the other and the new piece of fabric, You could send it 3 day for a couple dollars at the post office. I have done dozens for people. Free. Let me know.

Have not recovered them yet since I have not found a cardstock heavy enough to use. Figure on trying a craft store for it. Elizabeth, what do you use as a replacement for this folded card?

i recovered mine and restiched them it took about 10 minutes a piece, it's not really that bad, that worst part of my interior redo was changing and resewing the carpet on the back of the back seat.

I had the sunvisors in my truck re-covered professionally at a local Auto Upholstery shop. They were brand new visors. I just hated the ugly air bag warning stickers that were heat-sealed to the fabric. It was very reasonable to have them re-covered, under $10 each as I recall. But it may have been cheap because it was done at the same time as they replaced the headliner in my wife's Volvo.
