Anyone have a pic of hatch motor?
I was wondering if anyone had a GOOD pic of the rear hatch motor while it is in the car. I just took a look at mine for the first time and it is a mess. The clear plastic housing is cracked all over so the previous owner decided to zip tie the crap out of it. And there is a loose connecter that i dont know where it should go. It is white and four wires go into it, i think they were red white green and black. Anyway if anyone has a pic it might help me get this thing working. Thanks

I e-mailed you a picture of it installed. Verify those colors in the white connector. Mine are black, white, orange, brown. That connector comes from the latch portion of the pull-down assy and plugs into a black molded piece connected to the motor. The only wires going to the pull-down assy are a red with white stripe (constant hot) and a black wire that goes to the hatch release solenoid. There is another black wire coming from the relay that goes to ground. Some models have two ground wires. The second one is for the rear compartment light. Let me know if you need more info to get this working on your car. The clear plastic housing is available from GM. It should be reinforced at the screw mounting locations. I've used thin aluminum strips eposied around each screw mount to reinforce them. Once you have the motor housing apart check the gear nut. It is also available from GM. I make replacement plastic guides if you need those. Good luck, Lon.

FYI, the '92 plastic motor housing piece is different. That one is correct for 86-91 only. The 92 has a motor housing with two flat sides on it. By comparison 86-91 motors have a round housing. They are not interchangeable. I am going to e-mail them to correct their description of the part.
