Check the tech board. An article appears there which will facilitate the mounting procedure. By the way, there are two versions of the overhead console: the t-top version and a couple version. They are not interchangeable.

Yeah,Thanks for letting me know about the tech article on how to install the overhead console..it will realy come in handy..now about my other question...has anyone had experience mounting their console to the new ABS headliner boards?..and how does it compare as far as looking stock versus being installed on the fiberboard type headliner?..Thanx!
Well, I installed my overhead console in my T/A(t-tops) using a t-top board from a car that didn't originally come w/one--I had to cut a hole in the board to make it work--for wires-pins etc-so I think you might have to do the same thing--not sure if you'd want to tho!!
Especially in fiberglass!!

Tonyrodz is correct. If you want the console, you'll have to do some cutting. I have no experience with the ABS board, but I assume it's a fiberglass version of the original. Might I suggest that you use the orginal headliner to make a template. I did this with my headliner "in car". I simply made a 'pattern' from the console itself and cut the holes very carefully (cut X's in the fabric so that you can tuck the flaps under the headliner). I wasn't gambling much, however, because I was only a few weeks away from redoing the entire interior.

Thanx again for all the helpful information.I am still undecided exactely which way to go.Should i go with the "regular" type headliner board or should i maybe purchase the ABS one.My headliner at the moment is trashed,as we speak the headliner material is sagging and the actual material that the headliner board is made up of is falling all in my seats and stuff.Sort of makes me feel bad for my car..sniff..As soon as i finish typing this i will be on my way to remove that board, was gonna wait till i made up my mind about which way to go,but it really don't need to fall apart any further.Right now the ABS one seems to be the way to go.Anyone out there have any experience with the ABS one?..Thanx!
Have you thought about trying to re-cover the original headliner? All you'll lose is the time spent and the headliner material--instead of the $150 for the new headliner!!
I'd rather cut the old one instead of the glass one.

I actually thought about recovering my old one,but its too far gone. The headliner material is trashed. The owners before me must have thought that ciggerette burns where cool,so they put like 10 of them into the headliner.Bad thing is, it not only burnt the material it actually burnt the headliner board itself.Plus the material that the board is made up of,is actually decaying...i believe its time for a replacement.I said earlier that i was gonna remove it and i did,it now lays in my yard in many pieces,it started falling apart when i was removing it,so i guess its best to go back with a new one.
