84 TA T Top latch handles
I just had the weather stripping replaced on My 84 TA. The guy who did it said that it was hard to get the T tops back in. Now my passneger side T Top latch is really loose.
Other that the hex nut on the outside of the handle, is there another way maybe from the inside of the latch to tighten ?

The mounts on the car are adjustable. You have to remove the black trim pieces that cover the holes for the t top pins. Then you will find 2 bolts on each mount. Loosen these and you can adjust the mounts tighter or looser by adj up and down.

Most important......................
Do you have the GM Fisher tops or do you have the C&C aftermarket tops?

Re: 84 TA T Top latch handles
You are talking about removing the trim of the T top itself, not from the car body right.
Sorry Im not very mechanical.

Re: 84 TA T Top latch handles
I work too much and don't get to any shows. Do you show your car at any ? I would love to see another 84.
On a seperate note, I had a local shop install 1A Auto weatherstriping kit and now it leaks worse than it did with the 30 yr old seals.
Do you recommend anyone in the area. If you want PM me or email @ kleistmark@yahoo.com
I would really apprciate any advice. Thanks

Nah........I just go to the shows and park with the ordinary rides and go eyeball
and drool !!!!!!!!
You know the deal with most of the "show" knuckleheads and their attitudes!
My old stock rustfree Z gets plenty of looks from the ordinary folks..........
That sucks about your new weatherstrip and install job!
Will have to meet up and have a pop or two and tell stories..........
UGH! Winter is coming and time to put the Z to sleep and bust out the
"winter rat" rides!

I would like to meet up and see your car, mine is stock also with a rust spot the size of a quarter on the bottom edge of the passenger side door.
I drove it up to Old Forge for the weekend, praying the rain holds out.
maybe you can let me know a night that they have a car meet around town and I will come out. Other than Tuesday nights (my OT night) i'm usually good
