Custom Interior - anyone - anything!!!

Hey
I just happened to be at the alpine website and saw the M3 being customized. I really liked it (who didnt)!!!
So my question was - does anyone have a customized interior dash. If so plz leave pics - or direct me to some.
Also - how much do u think it would cost to have one made??? Ball park figure cause i know it will probably vary on what ppl want. Any weblinks would be really appreciated.
Thanks
Jay

I just took model paint and spray painted mine to match my car. You can check it out on my site. Im contemplating painting the heater vents and all.

Mine has minor customization... The centre console, plate around the heating controls/radio and bezels around the door handles were all painted to match the body colour, and a few other small things like pedals, A-pillar guages etc. Pics in the sig. (go to page 2 of the webpage)

Hey
I like what u all have done - but i was thinking along the lines of having the whole dash removed and a new one put in.
Did anyone check out the alpine M3 showcar???
Something like that - new gauges - new vents - a new location for the head unit - the works???
Anyone - anything???

and HOW much are you willing to spend?

Actually the Headunit & LCD displays are the easiest to figure.

You are looking at about $20,000 to have a REAL professional to do it for you. Someonewho is a Hack at Fiberglass figure $10,000.

You could do it for your self for less than $50 NOT including the Wireharness, gages & all the electronics.

The materials are the cheepest part of the whole thing. It will take lots of time.

How can that be done for less thatn $50? Where can I get fiberglass resin, hardner, and cloth for 50 bucks? I really want to try my hand at some small fiberglass projects, then try to tackle something way to bug for me just to see if I can do it

if you really wanted it done i could do it at our shop for about $10 to $15 that should include parts. but it would take about 5 to 6 months ....

if you have anmore questions call me at Soundwaves 979-779-0065 my name is Keith.

But we wouldnt have anytime to do it until world finals this month. too many systems adjusting and building for world finals... but we wont have so much going on after that.

i forgot the name of the company, but i read in minitruckin mag, a place that makes late model Grand Am dashes that fit in almost any truck for around $400. I think they make them out of fiberglass. You might be able to get them to do a custom on-off for ya, for a high premium....maybe a grand or more.
If your really interested in giving them a call, you should be able to find them in the
www.Gr8ride.com-archives somewhere

You want to know WHERE to get the materials. You can get some of the resins & fiberglass from some automotive stores. They carry it.

If you want big quanities you will have to do some research. I know we get 5 gal containers from Tool Chemical in Detroit. 5 Gal would be more than 10x too much.

I've been trying to reverse the postion of the Raido and Climate controls. It looked easy at first, the way they are attached allows for you to move them, however it seems the radio is alittle to large withough cutting into the dash itself alittle. I dunno. What do you guys think? Would a single din help any, for anyone who has looked. Its getting dark out, I'll do measurements tomorrow.

You use bondo, wood and wire mess to make the form then you put fiberglass resin over it all and you're done!

What would be sweet is if someone made a replica of a 4th gen firebird or camaro dash that fit perfectly in a 3rd gen with no modifications.
