Owner's manual

Can someone tell me the best place to obtain an owner's manual? My '88 GTA needs one; also, any recommendations on who makes the best repair manual?

thanks, Frank

For owner's manuals: Helm inc. PO Box 07130 Detroit,MI 48207 Phone#: 1-800-782-4356 Last time I checked, they were $21. As far as rpair manuals,I like the Chiltons personally.Haynes are good also, though I've heard of a couple misprints in some of their manuals.

As far as the repair manuals, I just got my Helm's Shop Manual for my 84 Z28 today. It is FAR better than Haynes or Chiltons. Mostly because it has more info in it and it is specifically for your year vehicle. Haynes & Chiltons try to fit 10yrs worth of vehicles into one smaller book.

The down side is the Helm's Manual is $60.
But if you plan on keeping your vehicle and doing a lot of the maintenance yourself, Helms is the way to go.

I agree with Wolfcoast. I still like (and use) my Haynes though. When I need in-depth stuff (such as hardcore tech or diagnosis), I go back to the Helm's.

oh, by the way, the reason I like to have an owners manual is to see which options came on my car, then I can go thru the salvageyards & install them ALL on mine.

My car has more options than most GTAs now. Everything Except the Digital dash & the push button heater/AC controls.

I have my original, but I have 2 cars. I did not buy an owners manual for my other car yet if ever. I mostly purchase sales brochures & service manuals.
