4th Gen. Seats???

I noticed a lot of people have put 4th gen seats in their car. I've never payed much attention to the 4th gen. seats. What are the advantages?? Do they look better?? What are the chances of finding some at a junk yard and the price?? Thanks for the help ahead of time.

in my opinion, 4th gen seats look ten times better. they're more comfortable too. price and availability depends on your local junkyards. around here, junkyards are crappy, so good interior parts are a rare find. however i was able to come across a near mint set of black/gray cloth seats from a 93 camaro for $150.

4th gen sats are defintly more comfortable and better looking. and the best part is they bolt right in in like 30 min. i picked up a set out of a wrecked TA for $300 front and rear (cloth)

Yeah another benefit to 4th is that you have a better chance of find them in near mint, then you would 3rd gens. Also they sweet looking. Your probably looking around 300 for cloth and 500-800 for leather. You could find them cheaper but that is about average.

I got mine (cloth) for 250.00. One of the reasons that I went with 4th Gen seats was the price of good aftermarket seats was kind of high. I was considering having mine recovered, when I heard that the newer style would just bolt in (they did), & the ones in my wife's 94 feel like they have more support also.

so far everyone has missed that the 4th gen T/A seats are nicer than the Camaro seats. If you've ever been in or seen the seats in a GTA, those are the exact same seats in 4th gen T/A's. They're much more comfortable than 3rd gen seats, and they support your sides and legs a ton better. They also hug you real nice in the tight turns

If you have 3rd gen drivers thats elec. Will the 4th gen hook right up to it? Or do you have to splice a new connector? Just wondering maybe lumbar leather seats.

The connectors were different on my car, 86 Trans Am and 96 Camaro seats.
