T Top Channel Rust Input
Below are some pictures of my TTop rust I have going on. I'm going to get this repaired over the winter and was hoping someone who had the same work done could chime in. I know I need a new center bar, weather stripping etc, but by the pics can anyone tell me if they're going to need to cut/replace the channel or if a repair is possible? And cost?

Ouch, your going to find out how bad it is once it comes apart, rust hides everywhere. Then you'll have a idea on what it'll cost.

Depends what they have to do but YES. Unfortunately rust hides everywhere and the only correct way to fix ti is to cut the old stuff out and weld in fresh. Need to grind it down but the best plan might be to look for a new donor section.

If you're talking that kind of money you might want to consider looking for a car being parted out and then swap the entire top. You can get a good idea of the condition by looking at the headliner, if it's water damaged then the inside around the T-Top bar probably had water in it. Otherwise, pull aside the weather stripping and pull the T-Top bar to see.

Ouch. A whole roof? Is this going to turn into a bigger project than I expected? The pics are of the driver side channels. The passenger sides aren't nearly as bad. Hopefully my body guy can figure something out

I have no idea how bad it is but if you can get something from a parts car you can patch it with that metal as well. Your body guy may think it's easier to swap tops than putting a bunch of time into welding patches etc.

Re: T Top Channel Rust Input
Before you spend a dime on the roof repair, check over the entire car for rust, floors, inner quarters, inner rockers, etc. If the roof of the car is that rusted there is a good chance that rust has to be somewhere else on the car. It would suck to dump a ton of money into the roof only to have rust appear somewhere else rendering the car gone.
