loose window & Door window glass guides
loose window & Door window glass guides
Hello, I have an 87 z28 IROC camaro with t-tops and 81,000 original miles. I am working to get my t-tops and doors to seal and not leak. Regarding the doors and my very loose windows. I have a lot of "play" in the windows and they wiggle back and forth covering some distance. I wanted to ask for potential reasons and fixes?
Also, I am looking at buying new "door window glass guides" with the fuzzy felt material on them. New a set of four is about $100. Does anyone know if this will actually help to stabilize the looseness in my windows? Before I spend the cash it would be good to know.
Additionally, the "bumper stop" at bottom of the window is gone and the other side is missing. Can anyone tell me what they are called, where to buy, or how to acquire these parts?
Thanks again.

Re: loose window & Door window glass guides
You have to be creative with the bump stops. Some guys have used bike brake pads. This is what I used. A couple of pieces you can buy in the Home Depot hardware section.

I recommend you change the fuzzies. As far as the loose window, you should check the little adjusters at the top of the door. Chances are they need to be loosened up and pushed back into the glass. Just don't make them too tight. You will see them when you remove the door panel. They are on the top of the inner door, resting against the glass. They have a fuzzy padded section that rides against the glass.
