Hey everyone,
I've yet to be disappointed with the support I get from you guys. I really appreciate the patience. Being 19, a college student, and the only person in my family who gives a damn about cars, it gets difficult trying to figure things out on your own.
I have an 87 Firebird and when purchased, and while straight, it has a number of noticeable imperfections on it.
1. The passenger side from the bumper to rear wheel well (including door) has a crease in it. Also, on the driver side quarter panel between the wheel well and rear bumper, there is a dent a little bigger than the size of a basketball. Relatively deep, and there is a hole in the middle, almost as if someone tried pulling it out. All of this is merely cosmetic; the frame and everything is straight.
Also, one other quick question. I was considering investing in a Harwood pin-on hood with the gelcoat on it. I received a bird decal from the previous owner when I purchased the car. I have the flat base hood which isn't worth keeping, so would I be able to just apply it to the gelcoat finish and not have to worry? This is not a show car by any means, so I just want something that looks decent, as I'll be plasti-dipping the rest of the car AT MOST because, well, college student.
Thanks in advance for your support. It means a lot
I was just wondering what a good

Re: Bodywork Beginner
There are several good videos on Youtube that will guide you in what you'd need to do and what tools you will need to do your own body work. If you are brave enough there are also some on prep and painting. I have personally been inspired to try my hand at fixing some dents myself in the near future.
If I were you I would also take advantage of the offer DillonRager made and get some advice in person too.
Good luck with your journey.
