I was able to find some information here on this great forum about the removal but i have a few questions
1.were can i find a set of the 6 screws, stainless steel i.e(homedepot),and what size are they because mine are totally destroyed.
2.does anyone have a tried and true adhesive for the seals,or can i use the 3M adhesive.

I appreciate the help.

Here you go friend,
http://www.ebay.com/itm/82-92-Camaro-Firebird-T-Top-TTop-Center-Bar-/151702390035?hash=item23522ac513&vxp=mtr
I seen a few other for like $60 but they look like crud so I posted you this link. I actually have a NOS GM one I bought years ago anticipating a paint job and t roof seal replacement. I paid over 300 for mine.

Re: Camaro T-Bar help

For the sealant, years ago someone mentioned to me that they used the 3M rope caulk. I used the 3M weatherstrip adhesive on mine and the rope caulk. When installing the weatherstripping, you need to bridge the gaps from the top rail to the A-pillar and B-pillar with the rope caulk anyways. If you take the rope caulk and roll it thin, you can apply it everywhere to seal up the tops. It cleans up easily and never hardens. That means it won't crack!!

Re: Camaro T-Bar help

There is a link in the thread below for the GM T-Top Waterleak Correction Manual. Might be worth reviewing beforehand. There are adhesives listed inside as well, but I haven't looked to see which would be used for the initial install and/or if it's still available. There should be a comparative to what they use more recently.
As far as the screws go, is there one in good enough condition to bring one into the hardware store to try to match up?

Edit: I just tried to find some screws but wasn't able to.

Re: Camaro T-Bar help

I took one off of my car but I'm pretty sure that the inner ones are different (IIRC, there are at least two types). You're probably not going to find an exact match from a hardware store.
Best I could do as far as pics go and the dimensions are using a HF calipers:
Head width= 10.94mm
Thread width= 4.06mm
Thread length= 9.14mm
Pitch guestimate(distance between threads )= 1.37-1.46mm
It's basically a sheet metal screw but this one is visible and appearance will matter. The inner ones are under the weather striping so you may be able to get the size and/or buy from someone parting out their Thirdgen in the classifieds section.

Re: Camaro T-Bar help

Highly recommend before installing you slather the underside with 3hr rain ready silicone. That way any water that gets by the seals under under the bar won't get to the body or inside the passenger compartment. I rebuilt my t-top channels after years of leaking and rust issues, and sealed everything BUT that. Now it keeps water out in all but the hardest rain where it still manages to get under the T-top bar. If I had siliconed the bottom it wouldn't.
