Strange problem with hood
Strange problem with hood
Picked up new set of lift supports for hood bought strongarm #4422 (they are for steel hood) won't hold hood open. SoI picked up another set to try same thing. The hood was off the car for an engine change. Any ideas?

The only thing I can think of is try these brands.
There as good as you can get. Especially the Stabilus and is what has been holding a heavy steel 2in cowl hood up. No problem.

Here they are installed.

If it's below 50 degrees outside then the struts don't work as well or at all even if they are new replacements. Being gas struts when they get cold they lose a bit a strength (same goes for the hatch).
