body moulding

Okay boys, Ive looked everywhere I think. The only place I can find the door/fender body line moulding is used stuff on ebay. I really want new moulding. Does anyone make it?

Well, nevermind I guess. Found some. Hawks has it on a roll (cut yourself), or you can get on Camaro Central.

Re: body moulding

It's close, but not the same as the original. Are you looking for the body colored molding or the older style black molding?

Re: body moulding

I wish I didnt need to use it at all. Stupid aftermarket fender on one side is killing me, but the body moulding would cure the problem. The car is a black 83 model. Which moulding would look best on the car?

Re: body moulding

This is what was offered in 85.Another version was available before then before they went to the wider stick on stuff like you mentioned. I had this style on my new 85 back in the day and on this one, which is also an 85.

Re: body moulding

I do like that style. I like the chrome trim the moulding is attached to. Looks good on that TA for sure. Nice car! Mine being gloss black, im not sure the "flat" black will look right unless I either paint it or find a body colored one. Im also not sure I like the wide stuff. The thinner the better Im thinking

Re: body moulding

It looks good on the darker colors, but is still kinda subtle.

Yeah,me too. I remember the day I took delivery of my 85. I had ordered it. I watched them install it. They are riveted on, then the insert is slid on...kinda neat.

Re: body moulding

Seeing yours changes my mind somewhat on whether or not to install some moulding. I wish I could find a nice original new old stock set. Used from ebay is a gamble and a half! Good news is, since I posted this earlier I have the fender fitted near perfect and it doesnt need it. Someone jacked the car up right under the damn floor pan at some point. My vise grips and a BFH worked! lol

I think the factory shoulda put a yellow warning sticker right on the lower fender for the world to see stating....DO NOT JACK VEHICLE FROM HERE. SEVERE DAMAGE WILL OCCUR!

Re: body moulding

For what it is worth, I think this molding is original to '84. But can not say for certain. 95% confident it is vintage.
