Dye or paint door panels?????

Can anyone tell me is it possible to dye or paint door panels. My door panels are 1989 GTA and are tan. I have changed my interrior to black and can not find Black door panels with the molded in arms.I have the flat style black with a cup holder but don't really like them. Is there anything I should clean them with before spraying them? thanks

I would clean them first, and dye them with Rit dye. You can get that dye really cheap at wal mart, costs about 1.50.

Let me know how it turns out. I'm interested as well.

Previous people have said to rough the plastic with some sandpaper and then throuroughly wash it. Then use a plastic adhesive aid and then spray. Do a search on painting interior panels.

When you get done I would appreciate any info you may gain.

I've heard that if you use Rit Dye on fabric, you should use a salt water solution afterwards to set the dye. Don't know for sure if that is true or not, but you might want to ask at a fabric shop. If the Rit Dye doesn't work on the vinyl, get some vinyl dye in a spray bomb and use that. SEM brand works great (available at automotive paint stores).

How would you apply the Rit Dye? Via a squirt bottle? Can't see you putting your panels into your washing machine.

Maybe better to buy good black ones and sell your tan ones on eBay?

i dont know the exact name of the paint cuz my dad was the one who did it and he owns a body shop but its the same as normal car paint we use dupont and you have to add a additive to the paint so it will let the paint flex a little bit ask your local paint shop they can probably help you out w/the right additive you jus need to pick the color or find a color code from another camaro
if you give me a week or so il get a full list of materials for you from dupont
