Anyone have this Duraflex Stingray Z Hood?

I've seen some of the Duraflex horror stories, but this hood is beautiful.
I don't know if this is a new product but I just ran across it on ebay, couldn't find any pic's online with it. Anyone have info ?

I was going to buy that a couple months ago until I read all the horror stories about the quality and fitment of the hood

I wish I could get the hood here to test fit so I could see just how bad it is, or isnt.

Most of those threads are by people who shouldn't be trying to fit a fiberglass body component to begin with.

My ASCD doesn't, but the ASCD is a thicker heavier hood.

I've had some pin-on cowl hoods over the years that you could almost fold in half.

Re: Anyone have this Duraflex Stingray Z Hood?

I have owned about 4 Harwood cowl hoods in my life and not one of them had that issue. They didnt fit perfect but 99% of them dont anyway. Ive also owned a ASCD cowl hood back in the day that was pretty well built. Last hood I owned from the SS style hood from an unknown manufacturer which delaminated itself on the highway and flew off my car like a kite! Id love to put a different style on my car but its a huge gamble nowadays with quality and fitment and its not like you can just easily return it to the store for a replacement.

Yeah... I don't have the type of money to spend on a hood for it emancipate itself on the freeway. If they are that flimsy, something just screams at me saying this hood with its openings will not be a stable hood.. You should try it though man.. 4 hoods.. whats one more going to hurt ?

Re: Anyone have this Duraflex Stingray Z Hood?

I could imagine that this would really crack and do some damage to your paint, should you decide to paint this. Seems too flexible. I was a dealer for duraflex/extreme dimensions but having no hands on experience with their products and with further research and reading other peoples " horror stories " I decided not to sell their products. Too many issues. I was getting bashed and receiving negative feedback on the hoods before I even sold them!

It's your car, and the decision is ultimately up to you of course, But I would suggest hood pins If you decide to get it. Just my 2 cents.
