Removing console question

I've got all the screws off of my upper console, got the shifter plate off, the HVAC/strero plate off, kickpanel, etc... BUT. I cannot get the upper console off! The E-brake is in the way! I cannot get the upper console off around it. Any way to remove the e-brake handle, or am I missing something?

oh, BTW, it's a '92 Camaro, so a corner of the upper console where the radio pod is is behind the gauge enclosure.

There is a screw that you need to remove on the side of the handle near the base. Then it just slides off, button and all.

bah! I must be overly gentle on it, because my dad, who has the flu, but is up and about for some reason, got the upper console off, with the lever still on. Thanks anyways!

I'll be taking pictures of the new console's progress as it goes in. The tough part will be that the car's a '92 Camaro, so I'll have to cut the old console apart.

Pull the ebrake all the way up,then take that one screw out,the plastic handle and button will come off and thats all.It doesnt release the ebrake. With the ebrake pulled all the way up the upper console will come right out, just slide it up the shaft of the ebrake until the upper console clears.

because there is no radio/HVAC pod on a '00 T/A Console.

Make sure you take the Ebrake outer off, if you've got a leather handle.. because it will most likely rip it apart.
