corvette tail lights

I have received a few emails about the taillights. I just received my motion glass booklet. The tail light panel cost $199.95 the lite assembly cost $249.95. Their order line is 800-866-3172

does the light assembly include the panel, or is it an additional $249? because that's a ripoff if so. You can reuse all your stock wiring and bulbs, and the lens are anywhere from $29 - $99 if you look around the net. But you'll need to fab up backup lights.

I got my lenses for $18 for the set of 4 from carparts.com but i wouldn't recommend buying from them. They messed up my order multiple times, and almost a year later i still only have 3 of the 4 lens i ordered in smoke color from them. I've given up hope long ago.

By the way, that pic is of my car. If anyone has questions about the swap, let me know.

I bet that would look better if it was like the "california iroc" with no lip spoiler...that spoiler just kinda breaks up the lines of the tailights.... still nice though.

TheWraith: have you had it paintmatched to the rest of the car yet? I remember you mentioning intending to do that a while back.

nah......gonna paint the whole car this year, so i didn't bother with it. it doesn't look to bad in person, and it's only temporary like that.

Nice job on your Camaro dude!

Sup man, let me just say, your car ( in my opinion) Rulz! First of all, my dream car is always been a corvette. The most thing I like about corvettes is their tail lights. Although I'l have to agree with the other person about the spoiler... loose it and get a winged spoiler, it will probably look 20% better than what it already looks. So, if you don't mind, can you tell me where you ordered the tail piece from? and all the other details about putting it on and all? Can you give me an exact price? Thanks and I love your car. And if it's not a problem, could you try to post some more pics?

Re: Nice job on your Camaro dude!

i got my tail piece off ebay but the only place i know of that you can actually order it from now is Motion Performance in Long Island. Spindr posted the info on cost. I'd get the lenses elsewhere tho, and your factory taillight harness will work with a few changes.

I'm not a big fan of the high rise spoiler.....everyone and their mom has one anymore. i don't think i'll switch from the iroc spoiler, but you never know.

As far as putting it on, i cut up a junk set of taillights to make some mounting brackets. It's hard to explain what they look like...I'll have to post pics at some point. It took me an afternoon to come up with the whole mounting setup.

Here's a few more pics:

Oh yeah, I forgot to ask....

It's me again, and I still can't get over on how good your car looks with those tailights. You say you got it from Ebay? Did Ebay have only one, or do they have many of them, like do they have them in stock? Oh yeah, and the corvette tailight piece, does that come off of a corvette, or is that one made specially for third gen camaros? Oh yeah, and you need to update your pictures under the ( Viewers Rides Section ). Because your car rulzz. K dude, sorry to bother you and all. Thanks!

that's my car up top. I do own two thirdgens, but not a black one. Not sure where you got that idea.

I have my 87 iroc with the vette lights, and a 1985 sport coupe that's also red, and currently gutted. It's gonna be a track only car powered by a high revving cammed 283, backed by a powerglide trans. The iroc with the vette lights has a 350tpi with a paxton supercharger, and i'm currently swapping over to a 6 speed trans from a 94 Z28 from my current automatic setup.
i have a 400 small block and bowtie heads waiting to be machined, then become the start of my next engine combo.

Sorry dude.... I have to have one of those things

First of all, I must have gotten you ( The Wraith ) mixed up with the ( Spindr130 ). Sorry. Ok, so, back to the corvette panel... Umm, you don't know the guy you bought it from do you, or, still in touch with him? If not, how the hell do you think he got that piece especially for the third generation camaros? He had to have bought it from somewhere right? On you panel does it look professional up close? Or, does it look like he may have made it some kind of way? Or does it look like a company makes lots of them perfect for third gens? I apologize for bothering you dude, but, I need one of those things, lol Or, if you don't mind, for some extra pictures you have of your car, you can e-mail me here: ( snoop_g_777_nstyle@hotmail.com ) Thanks!

Re: Sorry dude.... I have to have one of those things

i pretty much posted all the pics i have with the lights in the previous post....when i get around to taking more, i'll make sure i post them on the board.

I think mine is either the motion piece, or someone made a casting of the motion piece and resold some of them in the 80's. You can tell mine is fairly old, and it was definitely rough when i got it. But i'd be pretty confident in saying the only way you'll be able to get one is from motion performance in Long Island, NY
