Need to get something straight about 97+ Camaro interior conversion...

Okay, I've been reading around and I've very interested in converting my interior to look newer. But I haven't gotten a straight answer about one thing. How about someone just take this quiz...

Can the center console from an 4th gen be installed in a thirdgen and is it bolt-in or must be fabricated? (Afro-engineered)

Can the dash assembly be installed also? Meaning gauges, radio bay, passenger dash area, the whole 9 yards?

I know the seats are a bolt in, but can someone help me out here?

i was willing to provide any and all information that i could until i read your little "afro-engineered" comment. that is the most simplistic, narrow minded, bigotted term that i have heard and i am apalled that you even have the b@lls to post it here.

you are the kind of person that i have made it my mission in life to avoid. i pity the fact that you have no problem posting a term like that on a public forum and it is a vivid reflection of the obviously sick and twisted ideals that you harbor. there is no room for $hit like that around here!

peace,

Hell, I thought it was kinda funny... ANYWAYS... here goes...

The console wont fit because: the radio pod and your center console which are on the car now are all one piece. You would have to seperate the radio pod some how and secure it. Firebirds have no problem because the console and radio pod are seperate, virtually makin it a direct fit. (jsut did it to mine)

The dash WILL fit, and has been done. The whole dash itself is pretty much a direct fit, minus a few small mounting points and such. HOWEVER: You can not use the newer guages as they are run from a diff. signal than your current ones. The radio section I believe would work. The heater vent section requires some custom fabrication as well because of the different locations of the vents.

There is someone on this board who is in the process of doin the conversion now, and looks AWSOME! Unfrtunatley I forget who it is.

Good Luck!

Yeah, you've got to chop your old console if you want the old radio/HVAC pod. Check my post out. I'll have more pics soon.

im sorry if you some of you feel that i ocer reacted, but as someone that wasted 3 years of their life to a white supremacy group, i feel that there is no such thing as an over reaction to the statement that was made.

i will admit that i was a little premature in flying off the handle in the manner that i did and i will be the first to admit that i was out of line. i will also apologize for the fact that i jumped down the throat of someone that meant no harm by the use of the term, which is something i am by no means justifying.

for those of you who made the comment about being overly PC, there is a difference between it and standing up for something that i believe in. until you have walked in my shoes, please do not make comments about that which you dont understand.

peace,
menace
