Arm rests pulling up

I just bought a pair of arm rests in good shape off of ebay. My problem is: on them the top piece of vinyl is pulling off the plastic molding. It doesn't look like there is any glue at all holding it down. Before I install the new ones, does anyone know a way to keep it from pulling up from the plastic? (glue, tape, anything that is inconspicous)
The previous owner wrapped duct tape around it and that's why I bought new ones.

I would appreciate any advice.

There is a tech article about this, but get some heavy duty glue and some C clamps and two pieces of wood.Put a whole bunch of that glue under the vynl get the two pieces of wood put one on top of the area that you just glued, put the other one on the other size of the arm rest. Get the C clamps and clamp the pieces of wood down.Let it sit for a day or so.

Install a set from an 86 or earlier. They were MUCH better made.

Even the earlier ones can lift if the foam gets wet. I got a set of the ealier black ones to replace my tacky red ones, they are mint and were cheap but I have to reglue, but you're right Jza, they are still made better.

Thanks for the replies, but I'm really looking too see what kind of glue would hold it down the best. I tried JB Weld on my old one, but it didn't stick to the smooth plastic very well. Hot glue was only slightly better. I think roughing up the plastic surface might bond it better. Any thoughts?

Try epoxy, that should work.

Super Glue... it sticks to everything, including your skin.
