Spoiler options

I started putting my 86 trans am back together after I repainted it, my car came factory with the black wrap around spoiler but it was in too bad of shape to reuse it, so when I was looking online for aftermarket options I found a couple that I liked but me being 17 they were just way too expensive for me. I realized that a guy my dad was helping wrap a few pieces on his 2015 challenger had left his spoiler at our shop, come to find out he traded the car for a bmw so we were left with the spoiler so i set it up on my car thinking it would fit like garbage and that wasn’t the case at all.

Re: Spoiler options

That looks good. Do you plan to keep it one piece mounted on the hatch or cut it so that the two end pieces would mount on the fenders?

Re: Spoiler options

I think for right now i’m going to run it how it is, i really wanted to cut in in half and shorten it because it over hangs the quarters 1/4 inch on both sides but it’s plastic. if it were fiberglass i would’ve gone more in-depth with it but i am going to save up the money and buy the aftermarket wrap around spoiler because i really like how those look. this is just kind of a temporary thing

Re: Spoiler options

Yeah i was actually really surprised how well it fit the only thing that bothers me is the contour of the spoiler doesn’t really fit the trunk lid but for a free spoiler i had laying around i think it’s better than running no spoiler. all i did to attach it was cut the studs and remove the clips and just stuck it down with some 3m tape

Re: Spoiler options

That looks really nice. The overhang really doesn’t look bad at all. Heck, stick with it long enough you decide just to keep it that way.
