Windscreen position .

Hi , is there a set size , between glass and frame ,where the sealant lives ?....my glass is not consistent and sits too high at top ...... Someone has then filled the frame to make allowance for the odd screen fitment ........... No rust just filler .
.. I thought the vid uploaded ....bare with me .

Re: Windscreen position .

pic would be helpful. GM just put a bead around the channel from what I have seen and lowered the glass down, and then placed a plastic spacer/gasket around the windshield.

3 mm would probably be within 1980's spec GM had for squareness!! It's possible the body got 'tweaked' sometime in its past, and that much sealant was required to waterproof the windshield when it was replaced. I'd have a look at the K-member to body mounts and rear LCA to body mounts for signs of movement in the past.

Re: Windscreen position .

I've heard of 'beehive' springs, but never 'rats nest' springs!! Wow!!

What other secrets does this car hide?
