Side mirrors

The driver side mirror adjustment is made with the **** on the cables. When I have the **** in the middle, the mirror is all the way out. When I push the know all the way forward, the mirror comes almost to where I need it, but not quite there. How do you adjust the centering for these things? I've looked online and found nothing.

Mirror is half way in

But stick is all the way forward

Mirror is all the way out

But stick is in the middle

Re: Side mirrors

If u are willing to mess with cable connectors on the mirror itself, go for it. I would not. U may be able to find someone who rebuilds the cable system for the mirrors.
I would just reach outside the window & make final adjustment manually.

Re: Side mirrors

is there a way to just lock in the mirror into a set position? that way you wouldn't have to mess with the cable. seems like this is something you only set once - unless multiple people drive the car.

Unfortunately as soon as I push the mirror into a good location, it starts working it's way back out of alignment again. I am certainly nervous about messing with the cables on the mirror side, but if the cables are not working correctly as it is, I don't know how I could make it worse.
