License plate cut out

I'm thinking I want to cut out the license plate section of the grill to improve airflow across the intercooler and overall improve airflow. Any reason I shouldn't bother cutting it out?? I am gonna put a grill insert in it's place but I've looked on the backside and there's no supports it's literally just a square in the center.

Re: License plate cut out

A lot of states & Cdn provinces require a front licence plate. Your state?

This is what I did with my fiberglass nose, but it can also be done with a urethane nose. Two aluminum plates and some 3M 8115 panel bond.

Oh nice that's pretty much exactly what I want to do with mine. So if I just cut out that center piece will the top start sagging??

Yes, even more than the fiberglass would. It needs to be reinforced. Aluminum plates can also be used in the area between the headlights to eliminate the sagging there.
