Hi, I am currently in the process of converting my '92 Firebird to a 1982-84 Trans Am before delivering it to the painter.
I already have the correct headlights, Trans Am hood, front bumper, smaller ground effects, and I'm waiting for Classic Industries to confirm my order of two Trans am fenders with the fender vent cutouts. The ground effects holes have already been welded, too. So I'm already at the point of no return. However during test fitting everything, I've noticed the rear bumper is about half an inch too wide on each side. Is this a known issue with these? Can this be fixed, or do I have to buy a used rear bumper and have it shipped to Europe?

Reason: Text disappeard after uploading pictures.
I bought a front TA bumper cover from Classic years ago and had the same issue.they did take it back even after the shop painted it without pre-fitting.
My advice is to find a used one and return the new one
I'm in Europe, so shipping is way more expensive than the bumper is worth. Since it's longer than 62" I can't even have it shipped regularly, I have to go through a freight company, which in turn ships it via container ship.
I hope someone who has experience in plastic welding chimes in, everything is cheaper than ordering another (even used) bumper.
I know there are a few Knight rider conversion companies in Europe. I think there's one in Italy and I'm pretty sure there are others as well. They may make rear bumpers or have a resource for them.
Thank you for the input, but those are all made from fiberglass - at least the ones I've seen. It is not allowed to replace plastic bumpers with fiberglass ones where I live, sadly.
Edit: I think I found one that's not made out of fiberglass. Thank you for the input!

I hate to rag on a company's quality, but jeez, does it ever end? NOTHING fits with the junk they sell as reproduction!!!!!!!!
I wish you luck.
I agree! HOW could Classic NOT know of this problem? The seller should provide a full refund, including shipping, to the buyer. THAT, or pay to have it shipped back.

They have to know, they just ignore it. Typical Classic (OER) garbage. Buyer you should demand a full refund. Maybe show classic this post.
As for the bumper, i would start making small pie cuts to "bend" the top of the bumper to fit flush.
BTW, those fenders wont fit any better. Problem will be the opposite though. They'll fit small...go figure! Cancel that order, seriously.
Well then I’ll try to cancel my order and get used fenders too. Thanks for letting me know! Overseas shipping is really a pain, and I want it to be worth it in the end - not a mismatched Picasso Trans Am.

If you're freight-shipping a used bumper, I'd bet a bumper AND fenders won't be that much more.
And yes, the aftermarket for these cars is mostly rubbish.
