mines a 90, but i beleive they are pretty much the same, cause they switched the interior in 90.
I like the look of the 90-92 Dash. It seems more clean to me. Is there anyway I could swap a 90-92 dash and everything in and keep my speedo driven original speedometer cluster? How many things would I have to change?
thanks!

the complete dash for complete dash, it shouldnt be that difficult.. with that ud be better off converting to an electric speedo. its not that difficult rewiring the wire clusters for the swap. if u do attempt it, i would at least make sure i had 2-3 days, maybe a week if i want familar with the difference in the 2 dashes.

there was someone on here that put a cable speedo in the 90-92 cluster, so ive heard. been looking up info on a 82-89 to 90-92 cluster swap. all u really have to do is install an electric vss and wire it up. if ur comfortable with wireing (u need to be to swap dashes) then its not that difficult.

To use a mechanical speedo (cable driven) on the newer dash, you'd have to remove the electrical driver element from the speedometer and mount the mechanical element from the older speedo behind it. And even then, it wouldn't point the needle to the right place when it spools up. Besides, it's not hard to switch to the electrical setup, why wouldn't you want to?
I don't want to go to the 90-92 speedo cause
1. I just bought a 145 speedo
2. just put white custom faces on it
3. don't want to spend money getting a 90-92
I just like the dash better in the 90-92 because it seems
more rounded like on the passenger side and stuff.
Its a cleaner look. The 82-89 is boxy and rough
in my opinion..
