gauge face change question
after removing the needles how can you tell if they are working correctly? or do you just have to go by memory and get it close? if you remove them when the gauges are reading nil meaning the car hasnt been run , will the gauges have to be recalibrated or anything? that is to say are there any springs or any wound tension on the inside of the gauge that would undo itself when the needle is removed?

come on man cant anyone gimme some info? please?
Wasp when I did this my gauges were alll F'ed up.
My gas gauge didnt work at all, the tack was about 500 off Oil was at 60psi. Some of the problem was the 3M stuff started to peal so the needles got caught up. The other problems when I took off the Tach it was at 500 so when i put the needle back on it was at 500 with the car off. I fixed that by taking the needle of and puttin it on at 0 with the car off. Now that works perfect. The gas gauge problem was the 3M spray crap gummed up the needle housing itself so I just put the needle on and wiggled it a few times now that works. To keep the gauges from peeling up i used alittle whit glue. When I am home this break I am gonna reprint out all my gauges and use rubber cement that crap will hold for ever. Hope this helps ya out man.
