Racing Seats???

I was wondering if anyone did or knows of someone who put RCI racing seats in a third gen F-body? I want to replace my worn seats I have but don't want to get anything expensive. I've seen summit sell them for $30 a seat. I already have a racing harness installed so seatbelts are not an issue. Just the seat itself.

Will they squeeze into an F-body with no problem? Brackets an all? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Carry a pillow for your butt.

Those seats are frickin hard. Even for a guy of my stature (extra padding), they are uncomfortable.

If you're going down the 1/4 mile, they'll be fine, but if for a daily driver, you'll hate them

So you have them in your car? Was it difficult to install them? Did you need to modify anything to get them to fit?

No, those seats aren't in my car. I have ridden in cars with them, though. I didn't like how they shook me around.

I have a friend who is finishing my seat racks as we speak. I will post a picture of the install this weekend so you can see what they look like. He will duplicate them for you for around $100 bucks!

Look on ebay for seats, you can find some pretty good deals.

Just to let you know I am installing two Sparco Pro 2000's in my 89 GTA. They cost a little more than the Summit seats.

Thanks... I'm real interested in seeing the seats installed in your car. I would like to see the line up between the seat and the console. That is what is concerning me if there is enough space between the two to fit properly.

I have played around with them in the car and the only concern with some of the after market race seats is the height of the seat back. Clearance is no problem for the center console. This Sat. I will take a picture to show the clearance as well.
