85 camaro parts in an 86 TA?

Hi,
I've been looking for a new front clip and interior for my 86 trans am for a while now, and i can't seem to find one closeby thats at a reasonable price. Today i found an 85 camaro for sale. it doesnt have an engine or trans, but everything else is good on it. Is it possible to take the front end and interior out of the camaro and put it in my trans am?
thanks
aaron

When you say front end, do you mean underneath? Fenders? You can use the fenders--no problem there--but not the nose(bumper cover) or the hood. The interiors are pretty much the same--except for the center console and dash(cluster)--won't be a problem swapping out interior--plastic is the same and all mounting points are the same in both cars.

The fenders cant be swaped. The birds slopes down more in the front where it connects to the bumper cover while the camaros are much taller in that spot.

I though so too, untill I got one from the j/y. I went through all the trouble of putting it onto my camaro, just to find the bumper wont bolt on took a step back and realized what was up.

What i was going to do was take everything off the front of the camaro. I need the entire front bumper, hood, and both fenders. SO this won't work you say?

Well--it'll fit if you use everything including the headlight support(in the Camaro) but you'd have a very confused looking car--Camaro in the front and a Bird in the rear! I don't think you should do it--but hey--it's your car!

yeah i didnt realize the fender deal until i got the 84 firebird in here ;ast week, the wheel wells at the top center flar out laot more on camaro than on the bird i also noticed, cant really tell that the bird slopes down more than the maro unless you relaly take the trouble to compare. doors and hatch and all glass are all that will swap really, not even the bumper cover in rear looks same. luckily i have one of each out here to compare with, both 84, interior doenst share much either, dahs and consle all different, seats styles, etc, doors are about all thats same looking

good luck
