on both sides? thats a terrible idea. the rear will lock up too fast and the *** end will come around, you'll probably wreck.

front can be straight pressure, but the rear HAS to be biased

Re: Proportioning valve mod/Better rear brakes update

Went ahead and tried something different. I got a 1 3/4 spring and installed it. So now I got a problem My rears lock before the fronts do.

My car is a 91... with the 1LE rear disk swap.

I tried turning while I had the rears locked and well pretty much your screwed if there's something you need to maneuver around.

Come to think about it, my fronts never really locked before....

Re: Proportioning valve mod/Better rear brakes update

the knowledge i have gathered from this thread has lead me to believe that if your rear brakes lock first that is good and you should slam the brakes, then slam the gas, then slam the brakes and slame the gas while you drive as fast as possible around turns... they call it "trail braking" and... its awesome

Re: Proportioning valve mod/Better rear brakes update

I originally had rear drums, but I swapped on a LS1 rear end, while replacing the fron with Z51 brakes (basically oversized C5 rotors with C5/LS1 calipers).

So can I modify my old proportioning valve and make it work ? Or do I have to get one from a disc/disc car ?
