How close to the headers can the brake lines be?
Guys, I'm having some braking issues that I doubt are heat related, but just to cover all bases, how close can the brakelines be to the header?
Currently, one is safe, but the other is about half and inch from the primary tube. Is that acceptable? Is there a way to check the fluid to see if it's bad?

run the car, drive around and when its hot, grab the brake line.. lol.
i usually like to leave atleast 2" between the headers and any lines (brake, fuel, or coolent)... but thats not always possible.
if you cant make it clear more, then consider a heat shield... they're highly effective, and cheap.

i would simply cut and bend some sheetmetal.. if you do it nice, you can make it look like a factory heat shield.
