PBR e brake adjustment help

How do you adjust the e brake/parking brake on a car with PBR rear discs? The car in question is a 90 Formula and it has a swapped in 9 bolt with the PBR brakes. My car came with drums originally and has no adjustment on the cables as did the older Moraine equipped cars. I read about an adjuster screw on the caliper itself and a procedure somewhere but I can't recall where. Does anyone here know this procedure?

Might run a search on Ed Miller and Trickster (if I recall correctly, I saw info in their links). I swapped in PBR's on my 85 IROC with no difficulties. I, of course, have provision to adjust the parking brake in the tunnel. I set the free travel screws (I think that's what they were called) according to the manual, and all works great. Got curious myself. Check the following link:

Thanks for the info James. The park brake is working but I would feel more comfortable if I could have a little more travel in the handle when I apply them than what I have now which isn't much but it still works. I plan to get that solved when I swap in this 4th gen e brake handle to compliment the rest of the 4th gen stuff I've swapped in recently.

Hi Mike...you don't have the adjusting screw mechanism in the trans tunnel?

Nope, never had it. I'm guessing that since the drum rear cars had adjusters at the wheels there was no need for one in the tunnel. I'm hoping to get them adjusted this weekend if I can find a spare set of hands as this procedure looks like it would take two people to do it right. Would it be possible to transplant that tnnel adjuster into the car if I could find one?

Yes, that's what I'd suggest actually. IIRC, none of the '90-up cars had the adjuster, only the older cars had them.

Ed, I just looked over the post JamesC gave a link to earlier and I saw the pics of the caliper you posted showing the adjustment screw. Would I have to turn the screw in or out to get more movement in the brake handle? I'd like to avoid trying to swap the tunnel adjuster if at all possible.

The small set screw will do nothing for lever control. All that little thing does is set your piston angle to adtjust the parallel face of the pads. I've never had to mess with it really but it won't help your situation. Your issue has to do with overall cable length.

After reading that link that James put up it looks like it would be the fix for the problem. I'm using the correct cables for the PBR calipers so maybe there is a different cable that goes from the lever to the junction that meets the other two cables for disc brakes cars? If so anyone know a part number?
