Baer Brakes underneath 16x8" Formula wheel.

I tried searching and couldn't really find a conclusive answer because most questions regarding brake upgrades seem to be with regard to Camaro wheel clearance.

Anyways, I have an '88 Formula and I need to get rid of the stock brakes in a real bad way. My questions are thus:

1) Will the Baer Sport system (PBR 2 Piston, 12" x 1.10" Rotors) fit underneath the front wheels with no clearance issues?

2) Any clearance issues with the rear Touring system (PBR Single Piston, 12" x .81" Rotors)?

I don't have the car to print up the template and check, it's on the other side of the state because I don't trust it driving around in heavy Tampa, FL traffic.

I spoke with David at Thunder Racing and he said the kits come complete with everything, sans master cylinder. Do you need to upgrade master cylinder with the swap and should the front and rear systems each have their own master cylinder?

The Baer kit is my best option here because they need to slide on and off and come with all the parts so they can be done within 2 days or so, the work is being performed by my mechanic during business hours.

Any performance difference between the slotted/zinc washed rotors and the plain finish?

Thanks for the advice.

bear :)

the bear is a nice kit i did my install in about a day, springs were i bit harder on the front.... but the brakes were cake to do. you may want to order up some new lines to go with that. i had to change my rears to make it all reach with the 9 bolt.

you will also need a prop valve. gm parts direct or go adjustable from bear.

I thought the kit shipped with the brake lines? According to Thunder Racing they come with braided stainless lines as well as the proportioning valve..
