I looked at the prebent brake hardlines places (Fine Lines, Classic Tube, and Inline Tube ) and none of them have the hardlines for 4th gen cars which sucks cuz i have a 4th gen rear.
ANyone know where they sell pre-bent rear brakelines for 4th gen rears?

 

I'm in the same boat. Yards wont seperate them from the rears, so I guess you'll have to fab some up yourself. I'd like a prebent set.

 

The guys at Fine Lines said the cars were still too new to warrant making the lines for sale yet but if I wanted to send them a set of stock lines they would make a set for me, maybe you guys should try the same thing.

I took a gamble on mine and thought to myself "92 and 93 brakes are about the same, the tie in point is the same, they're pretty much all the same except for being 4" wider"..

I figured I could 'stretch' those extra 2" each side if I had to. So I ordered the 92 disc axle lines from In-line Tube. Got them in stainless and I love them. Don't ask me where the extra 4" comes from, because they pretty much bolted up with very slight re-bending..

Won't help people with the newer none-T rears, but worked for me!

I did the same with my 99 rear end. Just had to pull the lines maybe 1" on either side.

 

Im probably gonna give that a whirl. The rear is about 2" longer so i can let out some bends on each side and that should work.

 

In the above pic, you can see where the lines are bent...I'm sure you can pull enough line to make them work, you're only talking about 1.5" or so. If they're that close, there's no use in having another set made...just use the lines for our cars.

The best way to get the correct brake lines? You guys will not believe how cheap the original lines are at a GM dealer!!! I got them for $10 a side (though I get employee price). Retail should be $20 a side at most....and did I mention they fit? The only issue I ran into from there was to get the ends on the inside of the lines changed to mate up with the 3rd gen block that is on the "soft" line from the body.

 

You dont happen to have the part numbers for them do you?

 

Actually I do!! I am glad that I keep all my bills in a pile sometimes. I can't tell you what side each # is, but if you need both it doesn't matter! 10289430 & 10289429 Now after looking at my bill, I paid less than I thought. Each line cost me $5.00...and they list at $10.35 each!!!! To cheap not to buy them from GM!!!!!
