brake dust (preventable?)

is there any way to reduce the amount of brake dust that sets on the wheels?...anything that can be done the next time my brakes/rotors need to be changed? Thanks.

try ceramic pads. or some other low dust compound. just do a little resarch on your next set of pads.

My dad tried ceramic and they were worse than other pads. I think he gets the carbon metallic now.

I have carbon metallic now, and these pads don't make excessive brake dust. They are better than the pads that came on the car and about a million times better than the cheapest o'reilly's replacement pads that my friend has.

Because I saw them first hand. The wheels were black after the first week of use! My dad hasn't bought them since and neither will I. You may be using a different brand than I did, but I and he have been more satisfied with the carbon metallic

Well if you didn't get your rotors turned, the ceramics prob scraped the remaining carbon metallic off the rotors due to how much better they grab the rotor.

But then again I like ceramics imo

The rotors were brand new. The amount of dust that came off of these couldn't have been from any deposits that were left. What brand are you using then? These were Inwood. I use their carbon metallics and I get excellent performance with little dust.
