Just wondering if anyone has ever compared the big name brand brake companies for our cars? Baer, SSBC, Aerospace Components, etc.
The 3 mentioned all have direct swap kits, no modifying or having to buy many extra parts, just direct swap. Nice and easy. They all perform great. They all are in the same price range, +- a few $. Which is the better one of them? Why?

For what purpose, street or strip? Can't have it both ways. For a street car I wouldn't touch anything other than the Baer kit if you need the name. C4 HD is just as good most of the time.

 

the baer kit is pretty much just that, c4s or c4 hd (12" or 13"). what do you plan on doing with the car? what size wheels do you want to run? contact ebmiller88, he will set you up with what you need

I'll be running on the street 99.5% of the time. The other .5% will be at the track. (drag, want to try road/autocross) I'm running 17"s, but still have my 16"GTA's. I do agree with many of the experts though, you can never have too much brake! It could mean the difference in banging up the car someday.(Although let's hope that day would never happen - hard to predict things out on the street though ) So I was thinking about something that had the most positive qualities : Looks, Longevity/Wear, Performance, Quality, etc.

 

If you have 17"s then go with either C5s or a Wilwood setup. Problem there is that neither one of those will fit into your GTAs. The LS1s are about the largest you can fit into those wheels.

How do the LS-1's compare to the ones mentioned at top of post in most ways - $, performance, ease of install/swap, etc.??
I was told the top mentioned ones are complete kits - easy swap, no fuse, no muse.

 

The LS1 kit will be just below the Baer GT systems, which would be even with a C5 kit. You can piece together the whole system yourself or get a complete setup, ready to bolt on, and save several hundred bucks over a Baer kit with the same performance. Baer no doubt offers some good brakes but why not go another route and have some money left over to spend on more parts? The LS1/C4/C5 kits would be just as east to install as a Baer kit, brakes are brakes.

A friend runs the Wildwood set up, and he loves the braking, but also, he says its a nice weight drop from the front of the vehicle. For the $600.00+ price, I might check into the Aerospace units, for $400.00+. Just my .02.

 

Just saw that the Aerospace are now up to $550.00 on the Jegs website.
