What year rear do I have?

The rear is on the car, but if need be I can take a dig-pic but don't have a place to host it. Anyway, I need to know what year it is. I believe the guy I bought it from said it's from an '89 Iroc. I no longer have his info and I bought it cash so I can't trace him through paypal, soooooo I will describe it as best as possible:

Okay, the rear is supposed to be a 10-bolt 3.42 posi. The calipers have fins on them, and I've seen pics of other 3rd gen calipers and the fins on mine are much taller than some I've seen. They look aluminum as well. To remove the pads, there is a single little bolt on the top inside. Then the caliper swings open and there are the pads.
**The pads each have some little 2-part spring in them to keep them in the caliper, if that further helps**
I'm 99% sure the actual caliper (or whatever that peice is called that presses the pad to the rotor) is hollow and not solid with indents like people describe as the self-adjusting screw back in type, correct? Which would mean it's an '89+?

The reason I'm asking is, I might need a new caliper and don't want to keep buying calipers until I find the correct one.

WHEW!

I'm a little irritable and cranky right now, so please no smart *** comments as they obviously never help anyone. So any ideas or questions?

Sounds like 89+ to me.

Okay, the first pic shows what my brakes look like and my calipers say made in Australia. But the pic shows a BW '89 9-bolt, with 11.65 rotors and aluminum calipers. But mine is a 10-bolt rear with aluminum calipers and 11.65 rotors.

Did 10-bolts get the BW discs and calipers?

The brake setup is dependent on the year the car was built, not the type of rear end it had. The brakes are identical on 9 bolts and 10 bolts.

Thanks again Apeiron. Maybe you can help me with this, the outer most part of the RR rotor is all tore up, but only on the outer .5 inch on both sides. The brake works, but not fully as it grinds when I drive. I've searched and people have had this problem and they get a whole new carrier and guide pins. Can I buy those separately, or do they automatically come with a reman'd caliper?

You should be able to get new pins separately. They're an integral part of the caliper bolt, IIRC.
