LS1 Master Cylinder.
I just recieved a used LS1 master cylinder to use with my Hydroboost/LS1 disks upgrade, and there seems to be a fair amount of gunk inside of the resevoir. How would one clean out the inside of the resevoir? Any help is much appreciated.

The price is $500-700, which is reasonable for brake assist units, or at least from what I've seen. I'd like to know what brake assist unit this is, and where it was sourced from. black_highway, are there any casting numbers on the unit? Maybe I can figure out where it came from...

A simple click on the company forums would have shown this thread specifically dealing with 3rd gens.

Re: LS1 Master Cylinder.
I've been considering a PowerMaster conversion of sorts... Is it a simple step by step process like I hope?
Step 1-remove Vacuum assist unit entirely
Step 2-Bolt in PowerMaster...
I know the Rod from the pedal to the master will have to be shorter... and I'll have to get a Stockpile of Accumulators, as they go bad at least once every 3 years, or so...
Is this a dumb idea? I mean, it'll save weight, open the engine bay, and still work incredibly well... Shoot, the Grand Nationals had them... Why can't we?

Re: LS1 Master Cylinder.
You get a hydroboost off a 94-95 astro van for 40-50 bucks. Cutting your old vacuum booster bracket off the back, it will mount right up. All that needs to be done is lenghten the pedal rod about 3/4 to 11/16 of an inch. I use my old rod and welded it to the end of the hydroboost rod. Easy install and awesome brakes now.
