How long do Earl's lines last?

My rubber hoses for my disc brakes need replacing. I am aware of the performance benefits of the Earl's brake lines, but how long do they last, that much longer than rubber ones?

I don't want to spend $80 instead of $20 if they will both need replacing in 2 years.

This is for a car that is rarely driven, not a daily driver. No animals chewing on bake lines...

I've been running mine for several years without any apparent deterioration.

Rubber hoses start cracking and its easiy to see and know when to replace. You can't tell with the braided lines what happening under the braid. Either one I'd replace every few years. Course, no one ever seems too.
