C-5 Brakes Installed
Here's a pic of my installed new C-5's. I have to get 1/2" spacers for my wheels though since they hit the spokes of the Vintage wheels I am using. Still, I can't wait to get out on the road with them. So close, yet so far..

Elyria, OH, I am in Bryan OH if you know where that is. Anyway I am running the 13" C4 HDs along with PBR 12" rears and they are mean. I rode them pretty hard the other day from 120mph and it will almost drag my front air dam at that speed, and I have yet to get them hot enough to smell, quite a bit more brake than I will ever need but what an improvement over the junk 10.5" stuff that comes stock.

Yes it is, it came out of living room when we redid the house and I couldn't see just throwing it out on the curb. It's been laying there for about 5 years now. As for the brakes, I'm looking forward to driving the car with new C-5'c. I have LT1's for the rear but I have a few more things to get before I tackle that job, so it will probably be later this season or spring next year. I rebuilt my drum brakes for the time being since the wheel cylinder was leaking they were cheap enough to do. I'm just waiting for the banjo bolts to come in and the 1/2' spacers I need to get my wheels off the caliper.. The pics are a before and after shot..

carpet in the carage..hhmmmm never thougth about that but I bet rolling around on the ground is a little better but damn what if you wanted to grind something?? poof there goes the car/garage. anyway not to get off topic, ill be putting my C5 fronts on as soon and the brackets get here should be 3-4 days ( I hope) I have the Ls1's in the rear, I would be interested if I could tell a difference in the LT1 rears vs. the LS1's.

Well, if I have something like that to do, I just pull it back since it is not glued down or anything. As for rolling around the floor on a creeper, no problem. As for the brakes, yes the old brakes were definately when you are trying to bring it down from a high speed blast.

The rims are all 17x8" with 0mm offset which is made for the 3rd gens when I ordered the rims. They are fine with the stock brakes which are considerably smaller. The new calipers are thicker than the original and that is hat is hitting, I have the clearance around the rim itself, I'm hitting the spoke of the rim.

Here's the finished product, they are so much better than the originals. The pedal is so much firmer with the stainless braided lines up front.

Very nice man, i was woundering, if i orderd the conversion brackets and C5 calipers, could i order drilled/sloted C5 rotors and used them just like stock C5 rotors in the converion? I dont see why not. Let me know thanks. Also do they clear stock 16" Iroc wheels?

Absolutely you can and the numbers are listed above by LT1LE. I got my setup from a guy here on the boards and this is what he already had. My rotors are Brembo's but are not slotted or drilled. As for the brakes, they are great, a difference of nite and day between the 10.5 and the 12.8" as well as the calipers. As for the country roads 85Rock, I say yes we need to do that, say out 303 west, fun roads out there. This is one of the better

The bolt that holds the abutment to the bracket is a metric piece that you can get through Fastenal, part number 39685, size is M14-2.0x35mm allen head for clearence purposes, cost about 10.00 bucks.
