from what i have read the calipers are interchangable but it doesnt sound like the abutment is the same. i have also read that you have to use the smaller ls1 rotor with the c5 caliper. is this correct or have i read bad info?

srhansen78, i think you are thinking of mounting a C5 caliper in a 16 inch wheel. to do that youd need a C5 caliper and LS1 rotor. C5 and LS1 rear brakes are the same so just search for LS1. if youve got disc now its a pretty easy swap. drum is a lil harder but still not bad.

from what i have read it sounds as though the calipers are interchangable in the abutments, but the rotors are different. the size is a little different but the offset is where the problem is. is this true? does someone make a bracket for this offset so that you can use the c5 rotor and caliper? every one that i have read about is using the c5 in the front and the ls1 in the rear and if they are using the c5 in the rear, then they are using the ls1 rotor. This is where i am getting confused.

If it helps, i am running the LS1 brakes with the C5 calipers and pads. I had to use LS1 backing plates and abutment brackets but the calipers bolt up with no problems.........jt
